Great ep., and I enjoyed the timy-wimy of having Tony Cross a week before we hear him for the first time!
I remember a friend of my mum’s telling me, on the Channel 4 1984 re-run, “I had to pick up a magazine to read during this one”! But I loved it, and still do. I think McGoohan’s performance is outstanding. Amazing that they carry off the whole feel of a sumptuous western just on the Borehamwood backlot.
I so agree with (I think) Michael’s comment that it’s ridiculous that they fall to their death in about ten feet off that balcony. I almost wish that they had done the whole ep. without the exposition at the end. But it’s still great.
